Newly Elected OAA Officers to take office July 1, 2007

Overland Park, Kan. - The Oregon Auctioneers Association proudly announces the election results for the 2007-2008 Board of Directors.

Jake Cheechov, OAA President - Jake Cheechov is a 1993 graduate of Western College of Auctioneering and a 2005 Graduate of World Champion College of Auctioneering. Jake has been continuously employed within the auction industry for over 14 years and is an active member of the NAA as well as the Oregon, Washington and Idaho Professional Auctioneers Associations. Jake spent the first eight years of his career selling livestock auctions in Western Oregon and he continues to sell the Klamath Livestock Auction weekly. In 2001 Jake made the transition to selling heavy equipment sales of agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment. He is the owner/Auctioneer of Pacific International Auctions and Appraisals which currently merchandises over 3 million dollars of equipment annually. He is a 2 time Oregon Grand Champion Auctioneer and a Northwest Auctioneers Championship Finalist.

Jake previously held the position of Vice President on the Oregon Auctioneers Association Board of Directors. He recently has received his GPPA Appraiser’s designation and in March of 2008 will travel to Bloomington Indiana to attend CAI class III which will complete his requirements for the CAI Designation.

Johnna Wells, CAI, OAA Vice President - Johnna Wells, CAI of Portland, Oregon specializes in benefit auctions and fundraising consulting for non-profit organizations with her company, Benefit Auctions 360°. As a second generation auctioneer, Johnna also has a strong background in art, antiques, auto, business liquidation and estate auctions as well. Miss Wells holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Idaho and is a 2003 graduate of the Reppert School of Auctioneering in Auburn, Indiana. Johnna is a former Northwest Rookie Auctioneer Champion and in July 2005 was awarded the prestigious title of 2005-2006 International Auctioneer Champion in the Women’s Division. Miss Wells has received her CAI, which is the highest designation avail¬able in the auction industry. She was also elected to a second term as Secretary for the Oregon Auctioneers Association and is a member of the Oregon, Idaho, and National Auctioneers Associations.

Johnna previously held the position of Director on the Oregon Auctioneers Association Board of Directors.

Kelly Russell, BAS, OAA Secretary - Kelly Russell, BAS is professional Auctioneer who has specialized in the benefit auction industry since 2004. She is currently a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA), the National Auctioneers Foundation. She holds the designation of Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS), and is a candidate for the national designation from the Certified Auctioneers Institute. Kelly is a 2005 graduate of the Worldwide College of Auctioneering in Denver, Colorado. Kelly is an energetic performer who enjoys interacting with bidders. Kelly Russell, BAS currently lives in Portland, Oregon.

Marcus Morgan, OAA Treasurer - Re-elected to the office of Treasurer, Marcus Morgan has been in the auction industry for 11 years and started his own auction company, Morgan Auctioneers, in 2003 based out of The Dalles, OR. Morgan Auctioneers specializes in Business Liquidations, Estate and Farm Auctions, Benefit / Charity Auctions in Oregon and Washington. Marcus Morgan also is a contract auctioneer that enjoys helping other established auction businesses when they need it. He is 2006-07 Oregon’s Grand Champion Auctioneer and looking forward to competing in the International Auctioneering Contest in San Diego, CA in July.

Dennis Turmon, OAA Director - Dennis Turmon has been in the auction industry for over 25 years. Dennis is currently a member of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) and has lately been focusing his talents on charity work.

Bradley Esselburn, OAA Director - Is a 2006 Graduate of World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City Iowa. Brad has worked in the auction business off and on for the past four years. He has worked independently and for other auctioneers
